Frequently asked questions

Most clients find both treatments very manageable.
Microneedling can feel slightly prickly or warm, particularly over more sensitive areas such as the forehead, but the treatment is adjusted to your skin and comfort level. Your skin may feel warm, tight or similar to mild sunburn afterwards.
Chemical peels can cause a warm, tingling or slightly prickly sensation while the peel is on the skin. The intensity varies depending on the peel used and your individual skin, but your skin will be monitored throughout the treatment.

This depends on the treatment you're having, and you'll be given specific pre-treatment advice where required.
For advanced treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels, you will be advised to temporarily stop potentially irritating skincare ingredients such as retinoids and exfoliating acids before your appointment. You should also avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning and other treatments that could leave the skin irritated or compromised for 10-14 days.
Please let me know before your appointment about any medications, recent procedures, changes to your health or skincare products, as these can sometimes affect treatment suitability.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. The number of treatments recommended will depend on your skin, your concerns and what you're hoping to achieve.
Some treatments can give the skin an immediate refreshed or glowing appearance, while concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, texture, fine lines and collagen stimulation generally require a course of treatments and ongoing skincare for the best results.
Advanced treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels work by encouraging changes within the skin over time, so results are progressive rather than instant. A course may therefore be recommended rather than relying on a single treatment.
During your consultation, we'll discuss realistic expectations and create a treatment plan suited to your skin.
Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Aftercare varies depending on your treatment and you'll receive specific advice following your appointment.
After microneedling or a chemical peel, your skin may temporarily appear red, feel warm or tight, and some dryness or light flaking may occur. During the initial recovery period, you'll generally need to keep your skincare simple and gentle, avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids and other potentially irritating active ingredients, and avoid picking or exfoliating any peeling skin.
You'll also need to avoid excessive heat, strenuous exercise, swimming, saunas and steam rooms for the recommended period following your treatment.
Daily SPF is essential, particularly after advanced treatments, and you'll be advised when you can safely reintroduce your normal skincare routine.
Full aftercare instructions will be provided for your individual treatment.
